Over the past year we have seen the release of several excellent DVDs from coin expert Craig Petty. Mirage Coin Set is Craig’s set of gimmicked coins that is about to set the world of coin magic on fire?
At first glance, £95 might seem a little pricey for a set of coins, but when you actually examine these coins you soon realise that it would cost you much more to try and put together a similar set yourself. In fact you couldn’t actually replicate this set without several other modifications. All the coins supplied have been precision made to Craig’s specifications and the quality really is top notch. They are even supplied in a nice silver draw string bag. What more could you ask for!!
First up on the DVD is a comprehensive look at the coins you receive by Craig and David Penn. Then it’s on to the routines. Seven routines in total are taught in detail by Craig (on the DVD).
Silver Switch - is a multi-phase copper/silver routine that happens in the spectator's own hands. Both coins vanish into thin air for a kicker finish.
Hide and Seek Coins - a combination of coins across and a coin assembly using a Chinese coin, copper coin and a silver coin. To finish the routine the silver coin is used to find a selected playing card.
International Reverse Matrix - An international matrix with a reverse kicker.
Impossible Coins Across - a commercial coins across routine. Each phase becomes more and more deceptive until all four coins have jumped from one hand to the other.
Penaskin - A five phase routine where coins penetrate through the hand of the performer ending with the final phase which happens in a spectator's hand.
Wild Hanging Coins - Three silver coins which are produced one by one change into copper and then finally vanish into thin air. Great to watch!
Mirage Box - Four coins jump into and out of a small brass box, each time becoming more impossible. Dig out those unused Okito boxes for this one.
Also taught on the DVD are useful sleights such as Mickey Mouse Move, Gesticulated Change Over, Multiple Click Pass, Silent Multiple Coin Palm Transfer, Shuttle Pass to name just a few. All of which can be used with any of your existing coin routines.
Although the routines taught aren’t aimed at beginners much can be learned and most are achievable with practice. The possibilities with this coin set are endless.
The Mirage Coin Set was a complete sell out at the IBM/SAM Kentucky Convention and it’s easy to see why. I recommend you get hold of this set while you can, you won’t regret it! PS
