Claude Klingsor is a FISM past president from Belgium and specialises in using electronics to create miracles. These notes on electronic methods were written in the 1980s so you won't find any microcontrollers here but consequently the circuits are very easy to understand and build - if you are electronically inclined. A transistor here, a resistor there and a LED to round it off will provide the methods to some pretty amazing tricks. If however the thought of a hot soldering iron, terminals, receivers and the sight of a circuitry diagram leaves you cold, these probably won't be the new methods you are looking for.
Six tricks and routines are featured in this 26 page downloadable e-book. Some of them are certainly in the miracle class. Tele-blocs is the first one which will enable your blindfolded assistant to be able to reproduce telephone numbers and license plate numbers previously handed to the magician. She could even be in another room. Another has a spectator click the top of a biro for the sounds of a radio station to be heard coming from it. A thought of clock time is reproduced first on paper and then a previously set clock also has a time chosen by a spectator. A suspension of a fluorescent light tube followed by the magician being able to make the tube light up in his hands also makes for an amazing effect.
You won't require any sleight of hand for these effects, just the ability to solder wires to the right terminals and find your way round a circuitry diagram. Knowing your diodes from your condensers and your resistors from your transistors will also help. Fabrice Delaure has built a successful magic business solely based on methods similar to the ideas of Claude Klingsor and recently reintroduced an updated version of Klingsor's talking skull effect ‘Balsam’ from the 1980s. These are the sort of methods and effects that some mentalists crave after and with some technical knowledge, this E-book could help you to build your own. PP
What's hot: Electronic methods that can create miracles
What's not: Workable but technically dated methods with a thorough
knowledge of electronics required
