James Prince is a very experienced close up performer and
it shows here. He gives hints and tips on performing, finding work, getting tips
and approaching tables as well as describing in detail the working to his strong
table magic tricks. And boy, are they strong. This is not pipe dream stuff. This
is magic in the real world. You will firstly see James performing them to a real
audience in a real restaurant, and the spilling
Cards To Pocket, Card Through Window, Cups And Balls, Ring In Pepperpot, Bill In Kiwi and Anniversary Waltz are just a few of the items you will learn, step by step, in the capable hands of the mild mannered, well spoken James Prince. This is important - so many magicians release DVDs who subject matter may be good and their knowledge of a high standard, but they are either badly spoken or so over-the-top that it is hard for the viewer to stick with them and last the course.
It is difficult to highlight any single item, as they are all so strong, but if I had to, it would surely have to be the Note In Kiwi Fruit and Ring In Pepperpot. These two tricks are just so strong magically - if you perform them you will leave your guests totally bewildered. The modus operandi is quite straightforward (although a bit of pre-planning is required) but the effect is stunning. Watch and believe! James' handling for the Cups And Balls is also excellent and this could become a firm favourite in your own repertoire. James pays credit where credit is due (another refreshing point to note) and Vernon, Kaps, Levand, Ammar, Marlo, Wonder, Kurtz and Cloutier all get a doff of the old magic hat! James even takes a card trick, such as Card To Wallet, and makes it so personal for the spectator. Be it their birthday, leaving party or anniversary, you can adapt his routine to this, which makes it something very special.
This is a very unique set of two DVDs, the like of which I have never seen before. Watch and learn from a master. JS
